We protect your personal data

It is of the utmost importance to us that you feel safe and secure in how we process your personal data. We want your experience with us to be as good as it possibly can be and we, therefore, need your personal data so that you can earn bonus points when you use your Volvo or Renault Card, receive personalized offers and be able to use our digital services.

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force all across Europe on 25 May 2018 and replaced the former Personal Data Act (PuL) in Sweden. The purpose of this regulation is to place stricter requirements on how companies process personal data so that customers can feel more safe and secure. In connection with this, we have now updated and improved our data protection policy.

What is the GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new regulation which aims to strengthen and reinforce the rights of an individual to their personal privacy whenever their personal data is being processed.

How we process your personal data

We take good care of your personal privacy when processing your data. We process your personal data whenever you enter into an agreement with us. This means that data is processed before the agreement is concluded, for the purpose of ongoing agreement administration and to fulfil our commitments under the agreement and comply with all laws and regulations to which the bank is subject.

Personal data can be used to develop relevant offers for you, for the bank’s marketing purposes and, within the framework of applicable confidentiality and secrecy provisions, by other companies with which the bank collaborates.

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary in order to fulfil the purpose for which it was originally collected. Once the original purpose for processing your personal data no longer exists, your data will be deleted in accordance with our established procedures.

Your rights as a customer of ours

As a customer, you have a number of rights under the GDPR. Among other things, you are entitled to receive information as to how we process your personal data and you are entitled to an extract from the register. You are also entitled to have details corrected, restricted or deleted and in certain circumstances, you may also request that your personal data be transferred (under what is known as data portability). In addition to these rights, you are also entitled to withdraw your consent and to opt-out of direct marketing and profiling. You can read more about your rights here. More information about how Volvofinans Bank processes your data can be found in our data protection policy.
